Week 5 blog post. Went to class on Wednesday and took the word quiz. Wasn't too hard and I especially liked learning about the neat copy trick that applies what you have selected to everything when you highlight it. I don't know what else to write about aside from what I did over the weekend. Went scouting and stalked some deer near Boise with a friend from the Appalachian Trail and got way to drunk while I was trying to make a good impression on a girl. Totally botched it. Damn you scotch, you cruel mistress.

Interesting read about artificial intelligence. Hopefully I don't become obsolete in the future, and hopefully we don't get killed off because we get in the way of making paper clips. Skynet is on its way! But hey, if I had to fight a war against a bunch of robots I wouldn't be too pissed, it actually sounds kind of cool. I'm gonna need more guns though...

After reading the article I've come to the conclusion that I couldn't care less about either party. I understand that Dietz' business potentially suffered $300,000 in losses, and I understand that Perez had to spend thousands of dollars to get the work done over, but what I do not understand is why the news thinks this is a good article to post. Sure, the First Amendment is important and we should all understand our rights, but stop posting mainly negative things for once, just to stir the pot. Also, as a veteran myself, I think it's unfair for the paper to mention that Perez was a former Captain in the military. They are trying to use that to make her look better and more likable, even though it has absolutely no place in the story. This is one of the many reasons why the news sucks.

Well...I didn't go to class this week. Monday was a holiday, and I had a friend visiting town I haven't seen in a few years on Wednesday so I decided to not come to class. BUT, in order to meet the requirements for this assignment, I'll say that I had a blast in class, learned a lot, and thought it was easier then expected. My current topic will be about the Hawaii ballistic missile threat last week.
